After a long career as a graphic designer and a design educator, I made the leap to pursue painting. For many years, I worked extensively with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, creating and producing the museum’s publications and printed materials shaping its visual identity. Other clients included the Burchfield Penny Art Museum in Buffalo, Simons Architects, Architalx, Hope Acts, and Greater Portland Landmarks in Portland.

My art studio is located in Running with Scissors, an artist workspace in the East Bayside neighborhood of Portland. Influenced by my background in design, I embrace bold compositions and a vibrant palette while allowing intuition and curiosity to guide the work. Essentially, my paintings celebrate the expressive power of color and its ability to shape atmosphere, awaken memory, and forge connections to something both deeply personal and universally shared.

My career started in Cambridge as a graphic designer for Harvard University. From there I was a senior art director with Gill Fishman Associates, a nationally-recognized design firm specializing in corporate identities and branding for high-tech companies, universities, and cultural institutions. Moving to Buffalo, I was the graphic designer for the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, continuing for 29 years. While in Buffalo, I was also Assistant Professor, Graphic Design for Daemen College, prior to that I was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Communication Design at SUNY Buffalo.

My graphic design work gained national recognition from Print Magazine; How Magazine; Graphic Design USA Design Awards; American Corporate Identity; CASE, the Hatch Awards of Boston; Art Directors Club of Boston; Printing Industry of America; National ADDY Awards; and the Professional Communicators of Western New York.
